Raleigh Spring Events

Spring in Raleigh is always beautiful. The days creep into the 70s, the humidity hasn’t yet arrived and the days are much longer thanks to daylight saving. Here is a list of some of our favorite things to do in Raleigh in the Spring.

Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival: Usually held in mid-March – this year it’s on Saturday, March 16 - this event features a parade through downtown Raleigh, followed by a festival with live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

North Carolina Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Festival: This event on April 20 showcases wines, shopping, music and more in the Lafayette Village on Falls of Neuse Rd. Explore the unique shops at Lafayette Village as you sample wines, cheeses and chocolates throughout this beautiful, locally owned shopping village. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the event.

Moore Square Market: As the weather warms up, the Moore Square Market becomes a vibrant hub of activity. Pick up your local produce and treats, meet up with friends and enjoy live music. The market features vendors selling fresh, seasonal goods as well as original, high-quality crafts. Fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, eggs, dairy, artisanal goods, pastries and much more can all be found at the market. All vendors operate within 90 miles of Raleigh.

Artsplosure: Artsplosure is a two-day event featuring an Art Market of approximately 175 juried visual artists from across the United States showcasing works in ceramics, glass, fiber art, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, wood and more. Browse the eclectic Art Market, watch live music performances on the main stage from emerging national and regional artists, bring the kids to enjoy free arts and crafts at Kidsplosure, and experience one-of-a-kind art installations on display throughout the downtown footprint.

Raleigh Little Theatre Outdoor Performances: Raleigh Little Theatre begins hosting outdoor performances in the spring, offering theater enthusiasts the chance to enjoy classic and contemporary plays in a picturesque outdoor setting.

Take a Bike Ride or Hike: Explore Raleigh's scenic greenways, trails, and bike paths by taking a leisurely bike ride or hike. Whether you prefer paved trails along the Neuse River or wooded paths in Umstead State Park, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and stay active in Raleigh.
