Your Perfect Saturday in the Village District

Revisn is located in the fashionable Glenwood South district of Downtown Raleigh, just a quick walk or drive over to the Village District, a favorite place to shop for Raleigh Locals. Eclectic food choices, shops, and bars line the streets of this trendy shopping center. Are you looking for a day-long getaway in the district, or just looking for fun while staying at Revisn? Revisn has your idyllic Saturday in the Village District planned, morning to night.

Getting Started

Morning coffee at Benelux Coffee

Take a big stretch, roll out of bed, and head down to Benelux Coffee for your Raleigh-roasted morning joe or cup of tea. Benelux serves classic coffee beverages and teas in a chic, modern storefront tucked away on Oberlin Road. If you're starving before breakfast, we recommend splitting one of their famous Belgian waffles with your favorite toppings - we recommend bananas and Nutella!

Light breakfast at Rise Biscuits and Donuts or The Flying Biscuit Café

Bet you’re hungry! Stop on by Rise Biscuits if you're trying to be light on your feet, as their biscuits are perfect for walking and eating. If you're in the mood for a more-sit down experience, we recommend The Flying Biscuit! Order a round of mimosas, snack on their delicious biscuits and jam and enjoy a full breakfast.

Get a quick manicure or pedicure at Cameron Spa and Nails

Take a walk around the block and digest, then head into Cameron Spa freshen up your nails and toes. Choose from a basic polish and buff or try one of their more luxurious nail services for a truly exquisite experience. Don't forget to grab a drink while you are pampered, as they have a wide offering of wine, hot beverages, and soft drinks available.

Keep Your Day Moving

Shopping! Light Years Jewelry, Cheshire Cat Antique Gallery, Uniquities, The Local Squirrel

Start your afternoon off right with some retail therapy! Stop by one of the greatest sellers in the Triangle, the Cheshire Cat, for some carefully selected and stylish vintage clothing and housewares by local merchants. Then, head over to Light Years Jewelry around the corner, where you can score some unique and stylish jewelry and accessories. After you stock up on new ice, take a quick walk over to Uniquities, a fashion-forward clothing store that always has the latest styles in stock. Before you hop over to lunch, peruse through the offerings at The Local Squirrel for, you guessed it, local goods and gifts. After you’ve shopped ‘til you dropped, it’s time to fill up on lunch!

Lunch at Cafe Carolina and Bakery

A stand-by and local franchise, Cafe Carolina is your go-to place for light sandwich, soup, and salad fare in the District. We recommend a delicious sandwich on a croissant and a bowl of hearty soup. They've got deliciously brewed coffee, and this pairs well with any of their array of treats. We like the blue-frosted cupcakes!

Pamper yourself at Aillea

If your mani-pedi this morning wasn't enough for you, stop in to Aillea. This wholly unique shop combines the services of a makeup bar with a facial spa. Every brand sold by Aillea is considered "clean" and "trusted," meaning these brands are cruelty-free, sustainable, and use skin-friendly products for everyone. Do some shopping, talk to a representative about your perfect makeup or skincare regimen, and pop into the back for a quick facial or wax!

Stop by the Library!

Round out your afternoon by perusing through the Village Regional Library's two floors of books, meeting rooms, study areas, and event spaces. Grab a book or two and a seat by their all-glass façade for some of the nicest views in the District before you're ready to head to dinner.

End it Right!

Pick up a bottle of wine (or two!) at winestore.

After re-energizing your body and mind at the library, pop over to winestore. Pick out your favorite wine or try a completely new taste so you will have something to settle in with after dinner. This bright, trendy shop is staffed with informative wine connoisseurs that are sure to help you pick out your perfect red or white for Saturday Night.

Dinner at Cape Fear Seafood Company

A newer seafood restaurant in the area, Cape Fear Seafood has quickly become a local favorite within the Village District. With a classic menu of delicious, fresh seafood from lobster tails to crab cakes, this more upscale dining choice is sure to please the whole gang. Our insider tip is to make a reservation for a patio seat so you can continue to take in all of the Village District into the evening.

After dark ice cream at Goodberry's

Say goodbye to Saturday by indulging your sweet tooth at Goodberry's. Check out their special of the day before you plan your Village District "getaway" or go with one of your favorite old standbys, as Goodberry's offers a wide array of mix-ins and classic sundaes. Be sure to wait awhile as this popular local ice cream chain is known to get busy on the weekends!
